Huntington Ingalls Wins USS O’Kane Destroyer Ship Modernization Contract

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ San Diego shipyard has won a potential $51.5M contract to help the U.S. Navy modernize an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer ship.

The project will also include maintenance and repair work on the USS O’Kane as part of fiscal 2019 DDG 77 extended selected restricted availability efforts, the Defense Department said Friday.

Naval Sea Systems Command received three offers for the firm-fixed-price contract that contains a base value of $44.8M.

HII will perform work in San Diego, Calif. through January 2020.
