AAR has received a $2 million task order to supply 20-foot and 9-foot variants of TFI shelters for ground combat readiness training of U.S. Air Force security forces.

The company said Wednesday it will manufacture lightweight shelters for the service branch to store weapons repair stations and armories.

Jeffery Jackson, vice president of business development at AAR’s mobility systems unit, said the Air Force uses company-made shelters and ISU 90 KCI Military Working Dog Kennel containers in the Desert Defender program.

Air-transportable TFI shelters feature movable corner blocks, roller plates and detachable, 463L-compatible detent rails that eliminate the requirement for pallets and chains at the airfield.
