Matthew Ritchie, a former senior manager at Northrop Grumman‘s technology services sector, has been named managing director of mergers and acquisitions at Acorn Growth Companies.

He is based in the investment firm’s Washington, D.C. office and has more than 10 years of aerospace, defense and government services industry experience, Acorn said Wednesday.

Robert Hinaman, a senior partner at Acorn, said Ritchie also brings his experience in M&A, strategic development and business operations and mergers and acquisitions as the company looks to grow the number of its A&D portfolio companies.

Ritchie previously managed Northrop’s military aircraft logistics and modernization programs and helped implement strategic planning and M&A efforts for its government services portfolio.

He also held strategic advisory positions at The Cohen Group, Renaissance Strategic Advisors and Forecast International.
