Matheson has received a potential seven-year contract from the U.S. Postal Service to provide terminal handling services at a facility located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The company said Monday its Flight Extenders team will collect mail from FedEx aircraft that arrive at the Philadelphia site, then sort the packages for delivery to a local post office by truck or to further locations by plane.

The contract has a five-year base period that will commence on April 30, followed by two option years.

Pennsylvania represents the 26th state in which Matheson offers aircraft ground support services to customers.

The transportation and logistics services provider aims to identify additional expansion opportunities.
