Mark Testoni, president and CEO of SAP National Security Services, has said he thinks there is only “anecdotal evidence” about individuals who use bitcoin, Yahoo Finance reported Friday.

Testoni noted that the cryptocurrency’s anonymity has made bitcoin an ideal platform for terrorists.

“This is a modern-day version of Swiss bank accounts,” Testoni said of bitcoins.

“It’s very hard to say criminals control 30% or ISIS controls x-percent,” he added.

Israel-based Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center released in December a study that offered details on a bitcoin donation campaign launched on a website related to the Islamic State militant organization, the report added.
