The U.S. Air Force, Lockheed Martin and the University of Colorado at Boulder have partnered to add a research and development environment to the Tools, Applications and Processing Laboratory.
The Colorado Business Roundtable said Monday the new Tap Lab environment will offer remote sensing data analysis and archiving tools, shared cloud computing resources and computing infrastructure and services.
USAF opened the facility in April 2016 to provide government, industry and academic professionals access to remote sensing infrared and weather data via an R&D environment.
The service branch and several of its industry partners invest in technology areas such as dataset capture through satellite-based remote sensors, signal processing, analytics, data fusion and visualization.
CU-Boulder offers expertise in the remote sensing, analytics and earth sciences fields to partner organizations through the university’s Grand Challenge Initiatives.
