Saudi Arabian Military Industries Names A&D Vet Andreas Schwer CEO, Forms Board of Directors

Andreas Schwer, former president and chairman of the board at Rheinmetall International, has joined state-owned defense contractor Saudi Arabian Military Industries as CEO

He brings leadership experience in multiple international aerospace and defense companies to his new position, SAMI said Tuesday

SAMI also formed a board of directors to be led by Ahmed Al Khateeb.

The company entered into memorandum of understanding agreements with other defense firms such as Boeing, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and ROSOBORONEXPORT to help establish SAMI’s weapons and missiles, air systems, land systems and defense electronics businesses.

SAMI aims to develop technology platforms designed to support Saudi Arabia’s military and national security missions.
