Microsoft has launched its specialized storage account service in the US Gov Virginia region of the Azure Government cloud environment.

Kyle Deeds, a program manager at Microsoft, wrote in a blog post published Tuesday that the Blob Storage accounts feature has been enabled in three regions including US Gov Arizona and US Gov Texas.

Blob Storage accounts help users select preferred storage tiers for frequently accessed and less frequently accessed data.

Deeds noted that customers can use the cool storage tier to store less frequently accessed data such as backup data, media content, active archival data.

“We welcome your comments and suggestions to help us continually improve your Azure Government experience,” said Deeds.
