Bloomberg has released the sixth annual BGOV200 report that lists the top 200 federal government contractors based on the value of prime contracts awarded to them in fiscal year 2016.

The BGOV200 ranking looks at the top contracts at 24 federal agencies under 27 purchasing categories, BGOV said Wednesday.

“This year, top federal contractors have seen an increase in contracts, while budget pressures, contract consolidation and mergers and acquisitions activity have continued,” said Donald Thomas, vice president and general manager of government contracting at BGOV.

“We anticipate spending in some categories… to continue its accelerated pace.”

BGOV noted that government contract spending in fiscal 2016 increased by eight percent to $477.7 billion, with boosts from aircraft, facility services, and technology procurement.

The top ten companies and their respective obligated awards are:

  • Lockheed Martin – $44.1 billion
  • Boeing – $26.4 billion
  • General Dynamics – $14.6 billion
  • Raytheon – $13 billion
  • Northrop Grumman – $12.2 billion
  • McKesson – $8.6 billion
  • BAE Systems – $5.3 billion
  • United Technologies – $5.3 billion
  • Bechtel – $5.1 billion
  • Leidos – $5.1 billion

They retained their rankings from last year along with nine other companies, while 31 are new to the list and 122 climbed in the ranks compared to fiscal 2015.
