Harris has received multiple contracts to deliver sonobuoy launchers to Boeing for installation on the U.S. Navy‘s P-8A maritime patrol aircraft.

The contracts cover the supply of single-shot and rotary launchers for 49 P-8A planes of the U.S., Australia and the U.K., Harris said Wednesday.

Ed Zoiss, president of Harris’ electronic systems business, said the company’s sonobuoy launching technology is built to function in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare missions.

Harris’ launchers are designed to deploy up to 10 sonobuoys that support underwater acoustic surveillance.
