Peter Cohen, a 17-year veteran of Amazon and co-founder of Xendota, has joined the board of directors at Sunnyvale, California-based cybersecurity firm Fortinet.

Cohen said in a statement published Tuesday he aims to help “provide strategic counsel on the cloud technology priorities, partnerships and innovations that will help contribute to the company’s continued momentum with enterprise customers.”

He currently serves as principal at Xendota and previously held director roles at Amazon, its cloud business Amazon Web Services and Software AG.

Ken Xie, founder, chairman and CEO of Fortinet, said that Cohen will share his expertise on the board as the company aims to build its cloud offerings designed to help address customers’ security requirements.

Cohen also offers technology and business advisory services as an adviser, board member, investor and mentor to multiple organizations worldwide.
