Microsemi has supported a NASA mission that completed the successful orbit insertion of the Juno spacecraft sent to Jupiter to begin the data collection phase of its mission following a five-year journey.

The company said Tuesday its RTSX-SU and RTAX-S field programmable gate array product lines were used in various applications during the launch of the Juno spacecraft and will continue to support the mission on the environment around Jupiter.

Juno will begin its transition phase over the next few months and proceed to the final 14-day science orbit and initiate formal collection of science data, Microsemi noted.

James Peterson, Microsemi chairman and CEO, said the company works to demonstrate the capacity of its radiation-tolerant and radiation-hardened products through the NASA mission and display Microsemi’s commitment to space customers.
