Inmarsat has cleared the DataPath-built QCT90 manpack antenna for use on the Global Xpress satellite broadband network’s commercial Ka-band frequencies.
The Type Approval allows DataPath to offer a subscription-based high-throughput connectivity service to its customers as a GX service provider, Inmarsat said Thursday.
Andy Start, president of Inmarsat’s global government business, said QCT90 is designed to provide users access to global GX satellite coverage with a single terminal.
QCT90 will work to facilitate connectivity in remote locations and packs into a single International Air Transport Association-compliant case or backpack, Inmarsat noted.
Inmarsat previously approved DataPath’s CCT120 and CCT200 fly-away terminals, DA120 drive-away terminal and STT 208 trailer-based antenna systems for use on GX’s military Ka-band frequencies.
