USPS Seeks Info on Centralized Analytics Platform

Big Data, AppsThe U.S. Postal Service has asked industry to provide information on a centralized analytics software platform that will work to carry out machine learning methods and provide USPS data-driven insights for use in decision-making.

USPS said in a FedBizOpps notice published Feb. 16 that it will consider commercial-off-the-shelf analytics tools that can be customized to the needs of its advanced analytics group that works to provide data science skills across the agency.

According to the request for information, the agency is interested in COTS platforms designed to support various aspects of analytic projects such as discovery, exploration, modeling, prototyping and deployment.

USPS also listed big data visualization, advanced statistical modeling and data management as some of the capability requirements for advanced analytics platforms.

Responses to the RFI are due on March 21.
