General Dynamics Picks Kongsberg Weapon System for Stryker Tanks; Walter Qvam Comments

StrykerGeneral Dynamics has selected Kongsberg to produce remotely controlled weapon stations for the Stryker vehicles General Dynamics built for the U.S. Army.

Kongsberg will deliver its Protector medium-caliber remote weapon station to General Dynamics’ land systems business as part of the agreement, Kongsberg said Monday.

“[We] are honored to support U.S. Army and General Dynamics land systems in this urgent operational requirement,” said Walter Qvam, president and CEO of Kongsberg.

The company said it has produced remote weapon stations since 2001.
