Lockheed Martin has teamed up with Harley-Davidson to build a motorcycle to mark the commissioning of the U.S. Navy’s fifth Freedom-class Littoral Combat Ship.
Lockheed will showcase the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S model during the commissioning week for the USS Milwaukee LCS and will auction the motorcycle next year in support of the National Military Family Association, the company said Thursday.
“We wanted to do something special for the occasion and support the families of our military men and women who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms,” said Stephanie Hill, vice president of ship and aviation systems at Lockheed Martin.
Ray Drea, chief stylist at Harley-Davidson, designed the USS Milwaukee-themed bike.
