Comtech Lands Ka-Band Power Amplifiers Supply Contract for Satellite Gateways; Stanton Sloane Comments

Comtech-Telecommunications-Corp.logo-A Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has been awarded a $1.7 million contract to supply Ka-band power amplifiers to an unidentified U.S. systems integration service provider for use with high-throughput satellite gateways.

The 500-watt Ka-band traveling wave tube amplifiers from Comtech Xicom Technology will be used to set up new HTS gateway facilities in Africa and expand existing infrastructures in Europe, Comtech said Tuesday.

Stanton Sloane, president and CEO of the Comtech parent company, said TWTAs work to deliver Internet connectivity to clients across the world.

Comtech Xicom Technology produces solid-state and tube-based power amplifiers designed to provide uplink satellite communications capabilities for commercial and military customers.
