Adam Clater, principal cloud architect at Red Hat‘s North America Public Sector organization, has said platform-as-a-service is helping federal information technology professionals shorten the time it takes to deploy applications.

Clater wrote in an opinion piece for GCN published Monday that federal IT personnel are able to develop virtual machines and migrate the systems to modern servers with the use of PaaS.

“PaaS decreases the time it takes to deploy and integrate applications, thus increasing productivity,” he wrote.

Clater suggested agencies could also deploy PaaS to adopt a DevOps methodology for innovation.

He also recommends PaaS for agencies that want to oversee their container strategies.
