droneAuburn University has partnered with Mitre to carry out a training program for unmanned aerial system operators, Tech Alabama reported Tuesday.

Travis Leder writes Mitre will help the university’s UAS flight school to familiarize itself with drone-related regulations established by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

Additionally, Mitre and the University of Virginia have collaborated to build the Razor UAS using three-dimensional printing technology, the publication reports.

Leder said the nonprofit company is also working with the University of Alabama and district schools across North Alabama to promote science, technology, engineering and math education and give students an opportunity to participate in internship programs.
