The U.S. Air Force has awarded Lockheed Martin a foreign military sales contract of an undisclosed value to manufacture Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles for integration on Poland’s F-16s.
Lockheed said Monday that Poland is the company’s third JASSM international buyer and the company will provide the missile system as well as related software, hardware and support services for the Polish Shield program.
Precision-guided JASSMs are designed with infrared seekers and anti-jam GPS equipment and is built to also integrate with B-1, B-2, B-52, F-15E, F/A-18A/B and F-18C/D aircraft platforms.
Lockheed produces the missiles at a company-owned facility in Alabama.
