HARRIS1Harris Corp. will provide its Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband networking manpack radios to the U.S. Marine Corps for voice and data connectivity under a $36 million contract.

The company said Wednesday the radios are built to be interoperable with legacy narrowband networks and support the tactical communications and situational awareness needs of field commanders and squad leaders.

“Marines on the move and their field commanders will have access to critical, real-time information to support the types of contingency operations they anticipate in the future,” said Brendan O’Connell, president of tactical communications at Harris’ communication systems business.
