The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center has awarded Leidos a $12 million contract to build software programs for the branch’s unit command and control operations.
Leidos plans to use an agile development method to help the service create software that will be designed to support C2 organizations at the wing and squadron levels, the company said Tuesday.
AFLCMC is run by the Air Force Materiel Command and is built to manage all of the branch’s weapon systems.
Leidos will also work to develop open standards and software architecture intended to operate with other Air Force C2 systems and allow personnel to access authoritative data.
The contract contains a four-year base period of performance and Leidos will perform work in Reston, Virginia and in Morgantown, West Virginia.
