Bechtel, Westinghouse Form Nuclear Plant Decommission Team; Michael Graham Comments

nuclear power plantBechtel has partnered with Westinghouse Electric Co. to perform decontamination and decommissioning services on nuclear power plants across the U.S.

The services consist of pre-shutdown planning, licensing, project management, dismantling, demolition, waste handling and site closeout, Bechtel said Monday.

Michael Graham, general manager of Bechtel’s global environmental business, said the sites will be prepared for other uses after the decommissioning work.

He added that Bechtel and Westinghouse will leverage the companies’ resources “to deliver the safest and cleanest decommissioning projects.”
