Kevin Taylor, formerly group strategy director of BAE Systems‘ applied intelligence business, has been named managing director of that business unit.

He will report directly to CEO Ian King and continue as member of the group’s executive committee, BAE said Wednesday.

Taylor most recently oversaw the applied intelligence group’s growth strategy and order backlog for the last two years.

The company indicated that the new managing director will restructure the applied intelligence business under his leadership as BAE intends to grow its technology offerings for government and commercial clients.

BAE Systems plans to reorganize the applied intelligence business into the U.K. services, international services and solutions and commercial solutions divisions, with global delivery support in the U.K., Malaysia and Poland.
