Mark Janczewski, co-chair of Health Level Seven International’s electronic health record working group and formerly a travel physician for Defense Department officials, has been named senior clinical informaticist of Systems Made Simple.
The company said Monday Janczewski will guide its clinical informatics teams to establish a healthcare IT strategy centered on interoperability and data management.
“Due to Dr. Janczewski’s extensive government experience and positions with healthcare IT standards organizations, we found he was an ideal fit for this role on our clinical informatics team,” said Al Nardslico, Systems Made Simple chairman and president.
Janczewski, who will continue his role at HL7, is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and has worked with the Military Health System and Veterans Health Administration.
He is also a member of the American Medical Informatics Association, Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
