John Filippe Joins Cherokee Nation Businesses as IT VP, Todd Gourd Named CIO

John-FilippeJohn Filippe, a U.S. Navy veteran and information technology professional, has joined Cherokee Nation Businesses as IT vice president for gaming and hospitality.

Filippe holds 17 years of experience within the gaming industry and has worked with U.S. tribal organizations to integrate IT systems as well as establish network connectivity, CBN announced July 23.

He served as intelligence specialist on the Navy’s USS Nimitz carrier during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Todd Gourd, a nine-year CBN veteran, has been appointed chief information officer and he will provide strategic vision for an organization staffed with more than 100 IT professionals in his new position.

He previously held IT VP and network administrator roles within the company.

The Cherokee Nation citizen is a member of the board of directors at Rogers County Volunteers for Youth.
