Exelis CEO David Melcher Receives 2014 John W. Dixon Award from U.S. Army

David Melcher, Exelis, ExecutiveMosaicDavid Melcher, Exelis CEO and president, has received the John W. Dixon Award from the Association of the U.S. Army Council of Trustees for his contribution to national defense programs.

AUSA will present the award to Melcher at an annual meeting and exposition on Oct. 15 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., Exelis said Monday.

The association aims for the award to honor an individual from industry who contributed to “the security of the nation and to honor the partnership between the Army and American industry.”

Melcher has been leading Exelis since the company’s spinoff from former parent company ITT Corp. in 2011.

He previously served as the U.S. Army’s military deputy for budget and deputy chief of staff for programs at the Pentagon.
