CenturyLink will develop a virtual private network for the U.S. Marine Corps Community Services organization under a potential five-year, $3.5 million contract.

The company will work to design, configure and modernize the tools for developing a network in support of the MCCS’ quality-of-life services for Mariness and their families, the company said Tuesday.

“CenturyLink is proud to win this contract to provide a first-class private data network that will help Marine Corps Community Services offer important wellness and recreation services to Marines and their families,” said Diana Gowen, CenturyLink’s government senior vice president and general manager.

The contract contains a one-year base period and four one-year options.

CenturyLink will also build Internet and point-to-point circuits to connect 37 Marine Corps locations across the U.S.
