VerizonLogo1 EbizVerizon Enterprise Solutions recommends that companies partner with a managed security service provider to defend their networks against cyberattacks as they turn to technologies such as mobility, big data and cloud.

Janet Brumfield, the company’s director of corporate communications, said Tuesday that hybrid cybersecurity-management model is seen as the solution to meet these c0mpanies’ needs.

Such needs involve “more sophisticated cybersecurity programs that quite frankly are exceeding both the availability of human capital around the world and the capability of any one enterprise to execute alone,” said Eddie Schwartz, vice president of global cybersecurity and consulting solutions at Verizon.

Schwartz recommends partnering with an MSSP based on its expertise, financial viability, capabilities and operations model.

Brumfield writes companies should consider factors of an MSSP such as:

  • people, processes and technology
  • industry and financial analyst reports
  • professional service and cyberintelligence capabilities
  • a 24/7, follow-the-sun operating model
