TCSlogoTeleCommunication Systems has launched a new public safety answering point system that is built to support 9-1-1 calling as well as emergency-related texts, videos and photos.

Defender9-1-1 works to integrate with geographic information systems and Internet Protocol networks and comply with National Emergency Number Association standards, TCS said Tuesday.

Thomas Ginter, vice president for TCS’ safety and security group, said the company designed the PSAP offering in support of the Next Generation 9-1-1 public emergency communications initiative.

The system also features an in-memory distributed cache architecture, a graphical user interface and a browser-based dashboard, according to TCS.
