BAE Systems will help the U.S. Navy modernize, repair and maintain nine kinds of cruiser and destroyer ships at Pearl Harbor under a five-year follow-on contract.

The company has been maintaining those ships under an initial seven-year MSMO agreement with the branch’s Naval Sea Systems Command, BAE said Monday.

Vessels covered by the multi-ship, multi-option award include USS Chafee, USS Chung-Hoon, USS John Paul Jones, USS Hopper, USS Michael Murphy, USS O’Kane, USS Milius, USS Preble and USS Halsey.

BAE also offers shipbuilding, overhaul and support services to commercial customers that operate oil exploration and transportation vessels, aircraft carriers and cargo ships.
