MITRE, Allied Minds Forge Tech Transfer Alliance; Mark Maybury, Barry Costa Comment

computer, technologyThe MITRE Corp. and Allied Minds Inc. have forged a commercial technology transfer partnership with the goal of introducing MITRE’s cyber and mobile security systems to the market and forming a new business.

Allied Minds’ federal innovations subsidiary will work to evaluate MITRE’s technologies for commercial applications and licensing under the agreement, Allied Minds said Tuesday.

“Accordingly, MITRE works collaboratively with government and industry to transfer our intellectual property through a variety of mechanisms such as our new FastLicense program,” said Mark Maybury, MITRE vice president and chief technology officer.

Barry Costa, MITRE’s director of technology transfer, added that the company aims for the partnership to deliver its intellectual property to nimble startup companies and create jobs.

Allied Minds previously reviewed MITRE’s STRONGARM cybersecurity system and the Secure Virtual Mobile Platform open source program.
