LMI and Applied DNA Sciences have formed a partnership with the goal of helping government and commercial entities avoid procurement of counterfeit electronic components.
The alliance wants to educate the public about risks posed by fake electronic parts and help organizations develop measures to keep such items from entering the supply chain, LMI said Thursday.
“Supply chains critical for commerce and security are under attack,” said Joe Doyle, LMI senior consultant.
“In the electronics arena, remarking, cloning, and manufacture from salvaged die are creating increasingly sophisticated counterfeits.”
LMI holds experience in supply chain and inventory management while APDN offers authentication technology offerings to both public and private sector clients, according to the report.
