finger printIntellicheck Mobilisa has patented an identification check system that is intended to help law enforcers verify the identity of ID card bearers.

The technology is designed to read ID card data, match the card’s information with other possible individuals and display the identified individual to a system user, Intellicheck Mobilisa said Wednesday.

Nelson Ludlow, president and CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa, said the company wants the verification system to help law enforcement officials decrease the number of incorrect identifications.

Ludlow added the company aims to “increase accuracy in real-life scenarios with which a determination can be made regarding a match to wanted and criminal databases.”

The software is built to display individuals based on national or local threat level data and assign scores to ID card holders based on criminal records.
